TYPES OF CONCERNS

​In order to provide optimal care, it is important to us to ensure that there is a good match between our expertise and the concerns for which you are seeking help. We would be happy to speak with you should you have any questions in this regard. 

We have extensive experience and are comfortable assisting individuals with a broad range of mental health difficulties. Listed below are some of the common concerns that bring clients to our clinic. Please note, however, this is not an exhaustive list.

 

Immediate or Periodic Concerns

You may be in the midst of dealing with symptoms that have emerged recently, over time, or have come and gone over different periods in your life including:

We serve adults (18 years of age and older).

At the current time we are not accepting referrals for children or adolescents.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Maintaining your privacy is an important aspect of providing a safe place for you to address your concerns. Psychologists are ethically bound to adhere to high standards with respect to protecting your personal information. Under most circumstances, information obtained during the course of your contact with us will not be released to any outside source without your permission. Confidentiality and privacy will be discussed with you at the outset of your initial session.

SECURITY OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION AND RECORD KEEPING

In accordance with professional standards and Ontario privacy legislation, we use secure means of storing client data and communicating electronically. We use secure encrypted video conferencing services and our email system is capable of end-to-end encryption. Contact us if you have any questions about our approach to electronic data security or if you would like to use end-to-end encrypted email to communicate with us.

PAYMENT

Therapy sessions are typically one hour in length, including fifty minutes of face-to-face contact and ten minutes reserved for administrative demands such as record keeping. Fees are charged on an hourly basis and are in accordance with the recommendations of the Ontario Psychological Association. Please note that psychologists' fees are not covered under Ontario's public health system. However, individual's extended health benefits often provide some coverage for psychologists. It is recommended that you look into your coverage prior to booking a session. Payment is due at the end of each session.

 

Payment may be made by Credit Card, Personal cheque, or electronic money transfer. A receipt is provided once payment is received. Psychological services can be claimed as medical expenses for income tax purposes.

CANCELLATION

We ask that you contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. We charge our full rate for sessions that are not cancelled at least 24 hours prior to when they are scheduled.
