  • Samantha Greenwood is a Registered Psychologist with over a decade of experience in counselling roles. She has worked in crisis counselling, domestic violence intervention, and substance use support, and has spent many years providing therapy to first responders, students, and other high-achieving professionals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Samantha grew up in Edmonton herself, but has lived in several cities worldwide. She earned her Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and is currently completing her PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta, where her research focuses on the mental health of Veterinarians.

A working professional and parent herself, Samantha understands firsthand how anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt can feel isolating and overwhelming. As a first-generation post-secondary student, she knows what it’s like to forge her own path and face uncertainty head-on. She has overcome her own fears, from a lifelong needle phobia to the unpredictability of pregnancy to returning to academia to pursue her PhD. Through her own experience with evidence-based therapy and her development as a psychologist, she knows that meaningful change is possible, and she brings that same grounded, compassionate realism to her clients.

Samantha specializes in treating anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, perfectionism, and stress among professionals, parents, and emerging adults who feel like they should have it all together but secretly don’t. Her approach is direct, evidence-based, and refreshingly human; It’s therapy that gets to the point and actually moves the needle (pun intended!).

Outside of her work, Samantha is a self-proclaimed horror movie nerd who loves nothing more than a scary movie night with her husband and son. She believes that facing the hard things - whether in therapy or through a good psychological thriller - is how we grow braver, more resilient, and cultivate meaning.
