About You

While Greenwood Psychology welcomes anyone struggling with OCD, anxiety, overthinking, and phobias, our clinical focus is on first responders, healthcare workers, parents, and high-achieving professionals. We welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities, and are available to anyone living in Edmonton or anywhere in Alberta.

Many of our clients are individuals who:

Value a direct, no-nonsense approach to therapy.

Felt that previous therapy did not help with reducing worrying and intrusive thinking.

Felt that previous therapy didn’t have a direction, or that their therapist understood their professional culture (a common experience among first responders and others in high-stakes professions).

Are high achievers who are used to taking care of everyone else, but don’t always feel taken care of themselves.

Are “problem solvers” and are used to thinking their way to solutions (but are now exhausted by overthinking)

Don’t want to just feel better, they want to get better, and are open to being (compassionately) challenged

At our clinic, we dedicate significant time and care to understanding the cultures and pressures unique to performance-driven, high pressure environments. With both clinical and lived experience in these worlds, we recognize that anxiety, worrying, and OCD often intersect with demanding life roles, making it hard to tell where “mental health” ends and competence begins.
